CHICAGO (AP) - The FBI is asking for help tracking down a bank robbery suspect dubbed the “Hooded Bandit.”
Chicago Special Agent-in-Charge Robert Holley says authorities believe the suspect is responsible for at least six robberies in the Chicago suburbs.
Holley says the most recent crime occurred late Monday in Bensenville. He says the suspect approached a teller and made a “quiet but threatening demand for money.” He left on foot after receiving cash.
The FBI has given him the moniker “The Hooded Bandit” because he has covered his head with a hood during each robbery.
The bureau is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the man’s arrest.
He’s described as white, between 50 and 60 years old and weighing about 165 pounds.
Anyone with information may call the FBI.
