OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - With Republican U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn retiring with two years left on his term, both of Oklahoma’s U.S. Senate seats will be on the ballot in 2014.

Republican U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe filed for another six-year term in office on Wednesday, the first of a three-day filing period for candidates in Oklahoma. The 79-year-old Inhofe will face a GOP primary challenge from 59-year-old D. Jean McBride-Samuels of Jenks and Erick Paul Wyatt, 35, of Norman. Independent Ray Woods, 78, of Fairview also filed for the post.

The two-year term for Coburn’s open seat is expected to draw the most candidates.

Among those who filed Wednesday are Democratic state Sen. Connie Johnson of Oklahoma City, and Republicans Kevin Crow of Chickasha, Eric McCray of Tulsa and Jason Weger of Norman.
