Sen. Dianne Feinstein, California Democrat, said Tuesday that criticism that she is too emotional about a report on CIA interrogation tactics is just a defense to continue to hide the report.
“I think that’s an old male fallback position, and there’s no question that there are a lot of people out there, and I suspect former CIA Director Michael Hayden is one of them, that does not want the report to come out, so one of the things you do is try to blur the reputation of someone connected with the report,” the chairwoman for the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence said on MSNBC.
Ms. Feinstein, who voted to declassify the report, said she hopes it is released quickly and only lightly redacted. She also said it will do the public a lot of good to read the report, which she called “brutal.”
