TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Thinking of renting a party bus or limo to send your kids to the prom in style?

Some schools in Hillsborough County say no. At Robinson High School, students are expected to drive themselves to the prom, or have their parents drop them off.

The Tampa Tribune (bit.ly/1mYdC9e ) reports the schools are attempting to curb the under-age drinking. In 2009, a student needed medical attention and several others were suspended for drinking alcohol on a party bus before a school dance.

Robinson Principal Johnny Bush strictly enforces the no-party-bus rule.

The party buses are allowed at Plant High School, but Principal Robert Nelson is not a fan. Instead of banning them, he says they’re focusing on outreach to students and parents as they prepare for Saturday’s prom.
