SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) - Florida Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo was a late scratch for Tuesday’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Luongo skated in warmups before the game, but team officials announced shortly before the start of the game that Luongo is out with an upper-body injury. He was replaced by Dan Ellis, who made his fifth start for the Panthers since being acquired from the Dallas Stars on March 5.
Luongo, acquired in a trade with the Vancouver Canucks on March 4, missed three starts from March 29 to April 1 with a head injury after a collision at the net during a game against the Carolina Hurricanes. He made 35 saves in Sunday’s 3-2 win against Dallas.
