OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A ceremony to honor members of the Oklahoma National Guard and of the former 45th Infantry Division is scheduled at the state Legislature.
The annual Oklahoma National Guard and 45th Infantry Division Appreciation Day will be Tuesday during a joint session of the state House and Senate in the House.
The day is to pay tribute to all members of the 45th Infantry Division - especially those who served during World War II and Korea. It’s been expanded recently to include members currently serving in the National Guard.
The 45th Infantry Division was formed shortly after World War I. It was replaced with three brigade-sized elements that are now the Oklahoma National Guard and include the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, the 45th Fires Brigade and the 90th Troop Command.
