BALDWIN, N.Y. (AP) - The Long Island Rail Road says credit card reading devices have been discovered at ticket machines at one of its stations.
The agency says railroad workers discovered the card skimmers and tiny hidden cameras at ticket vending machines in Baldwin during routine inspections last week.
According to Newsday (https://bit.ly/PXFkYn0 ), MTA police are investigating and have identified a suspect.
Authorities advise Baldwin station customers to check with their banks or credit card companies for unusual activity.
Last year similar devices were used to steal financial information from several LIRR customers at stations on the Port Washington line. A Queens couple pleaded guilty to conspiracy and larceny charges in that case last week.
