DUBLIN (AP) - England will play Ireland in a soccer exhibition in Dublin in June 2015, their first meeting in the Irish capital since 1995 when the match was abandoned because of crowd disorder.

Relations between the nations have improved since and the teams played each other at Wembley Stadium last May. English FA executive Adrian Bevington calls it a “significant moment for England to play in Dublin again.”

The game in February 1995 lasted 28 minutes. Players were taken off the field after a section of England fans rampaged inside the stadium, tearing up wooden benches and throwing them at opposing fans before battling with Irish police.

More than 20 people required hospital treatment and over 40 were arrested.
