INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - More than 80 Indiana teachers will attend a workshop intended to help them teach students about the courts.
The workshop Thursday is being hosted by the Indiana Supreme Court and the Indiana Bar Foundation.
Workshop sessions include problem-solving courts, juvenile and family matters, and the appellate process. Teachers also will attend an oral argument at the state Supreme Court and have lunch with high court justices, judges and lawyers.
The teachers were nominated by judges and members of civic or legal organizations.
The state Supreme Court provides civic education materials and programming to teachers through its Courts in the Classroom project.
