ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia State University officials say they’re planning to host a Turkish political commentator and author for a discussion on Islamism.

Officials say Mustafa Akyol will deliver a lecture titled “The Future of Islamism: Lessons on Tunisia, Egypt and Turkey” on April 17.

GSU officials say Akyol is based in Istanbul and specializes in issues related to Islam, Turkey, modernity and more. Officials say Aykol writes columns for two Turkish newspapers and the International New York Times.

The lecture is being hosted in the Georgia State University Student Center’s speaker’s auditorium.

The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are recommended.
