PHOENIX (AP) - The state has been revamping its behavioral health services in Maricopa County but now is turning its attention to the rest of the state.

Department of Health Services Director Will Humble says his department in 2014 will work on integrating physical and mental services in what he calls “Greater Arizona” for people with a serious mental illness.

Humble says that integration of service providers would be much like that’s being done in the Phoenix area under its new contract.

In another change, Humble says the state plans to consolidate several of its six current service areas around the state, likely ending up with just three.

According to Humble, one would be for northern Arizona, another would serve southern Arizona and third would be for Maricopa County.
