PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota Supreme Court has denied an appeal from lawyers representing a 17-year-old Pierre boy accused of murder.

Braiden McCahren has pleaded not guilty in the December 2012 shooting death of 16-year-old Dalton Williams. McCahren was 16 at the time of the shooting that happened in his home.

A circuit judge has ruled twice that McCahren be tried as an adult rather than as a juvenile - the second time after the state Supreme Court ordered another review following an appeal by McCahren’s defense. KCCR radio reports that justices have now denied a second appeal.

McCahren’s trial is tentatively scheduled for June 2-13.
