SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say two hikers have been rescued from a mountain trail in north Scottsdale after running out of water and getting disoriented.
Fire Department units from Scottsdale, Phoenix and Tempe were dispatched to the Gateway Trail around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The hikers in the 60s were located by their cellphones about four miles up the trailhead.
Both were flown out by helicopter and one hiker was transported to Scottsdale Healthcare Shea for further evaluation.
The names and genders of the hikers weren’t immediately released.
