LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Lanes will be closed on Interstate 430 in Little Rock this week so crews can perform tests on the driving surface.

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department says the closures will take place Thursday, weather permitting. The highway department says the closure is needed so crews can test the friction of the driving surface.

The work will affect the northbound and southbound outside lanes of the interstate between Cantrell Road and the Arkansas River.

Traffic will be controlled using barrels and warning signs.
