SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A state Senator’s consultant charged in a San Francisco corruption and organized crime case is remaining free on bail.
A judge on Monday rejected a federal prosecutor’s demand to revoke Keith Jackson’s $250,000 bail. Prosecutors argue that the property Jackson is offering as collateral to assure his attendance at court hearings and trial isn’t worth as much as Jackson claims.
But the judge agreed to give Jackson several weeks to find property for collateral.
Jackson was arrested March 26 and freed Thursday.
The San Francisco resident is charged with soliciting bribes for state Sen. Leland Yee.
Jackson and Yee are also charged with agreeing to connect an undercover FBI operative with an arms dealer in exchange for cash.
Jackson, Lee and their co-defendants are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
