HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - An April 21 plea hearing is set in West Virginia for an Ohio woman accused of embezzling more than $150,000 from her former employer.
Connie Lynn Whitley of South Point, Ohio, is charged in a federal information with converting another’s property to her own use.
Whitley is accused of taking the money from July 2009 to September 2013 while working as a bookkeeper for Uptowner Inn Inc. The company owns several hotels and apartments in West Virginia.
West Virginia State Police have said Whitley wrote 191 checks to herself from five different accounts.
The plea hearing will be held in U.S. District Court in Huntington.
