BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A former toy store worker now admits to killing a store manager during an early morning break-in last June.
Local media report that Bernard Grucza (GROOZ-uh) is expected to be sentenced to 25 years in prison as part of his agreement Monday to plead guilty to first-degree manslaughter.
Grucza had been charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Laurence Wells II at a Toys R Us store in the Buffalo suburb of Hamburg.
Grucza was a loss prevention officer for the store when police say he entered it the morning of June 29, planning to steal cash or merchandise. Police say he ran into Wells unexpectedly in a back office and stabbed him.
