CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. (AP) - A 23-year-old homeless man is accused of fatally stabbing his mother during an argument, and then burying her in a shallow grave.

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were looking for Benjamin Dick on Saturday in connection with another stabbing. When they found him at a homeless camp in Crystal River several witnesses told them Dick had killed his mother.

The Tampa Bay Times (https://bit.ly/QWeyRu ) reports deputies searched the area and found what appeared to be a grave.

Witnesses told authorities that Dick, his girlfriend and another man had been drinking with 42-year-old Jennifer Brooks.

According to deputies, Dick attacked his mother after she made a derogatory comment about his girlfriend. He then enlisted help from his friend to bury her.

He was arrested on charges including second-degree murder.
