OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Former Florida Gov. and possible 2016 presidential candidate Jeb Bush is planning to visit a college-preparatory middle school in Oklahoma City.
Bush is to join Gov. Mary Fallin on Tuesday to meet with teachers and students from the KIPP College Preparatory School in Oklahoma City.
The school received an “A’’ grade from the Oklahoma State Department of Education’s new A-F grading system and is touted as an example of a successful school in an urban setting with high poverty rates.
Fallin and Bush are expected to participate in a discussion with teachers and administrators, followed by a meeting with students.
KIPP, or the Knowledge Is Power Program, has schools nationwide and is frequently cited as an example of a successful charter schools network.
