FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A Fargo man accused of receiving and possessing child pornography has been sentenced to nine years in prison.
The U.S. Attorney in North Dakota Timothy Purdon on Monday announced the sentence against 34-year-old Aaron James Olson.
Authorities say the state’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation began investigating Olson after agents tracked down a computer in North Dakota that was sharing child pornography in a peer-to-peer network.
Purdon’s office says a search of Olson’s home yielded 37 DVDs that contained more than 300 child pornography videos.
U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson also ordered the Fargo man to seven years of supervised release.
Olson’s attorney did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
