RENO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities say a Fallon man is dead after losing control of his motorcycle on State Route 341 near Virginia City.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says 67-year-old James Edward Cooper was traveling south when failed to negotiate a curve on the mountain road and struck a guardrail.

Cooper was thrown from his Harley Davidson motorcycle and suffered critical injuries. The crash happened around 1 p.m. Sunday.

Troopers say Cooper was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, where he died.
