LOS ANGELES (AP) - A 33-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs in connection with a crash that left a Los Angeles police motorcycle officer in critical condition.

The Los Angeles Times reported Sunday (https://lat.ms/OntG85) that Qaneak Cobb of Pacoima was arrested after the collision at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities say the officer was stopped at a traffic light when Cobb’s red SUV struck him from behind and pinned him to the car in front. The officer’s name was not immediately released.

Police say he underwent surgery Saturday night and was in critical condition.

Police say a passenger in the vehicle driven by Cobb was detained for questioning and then released.
