CLEVELAND (AP) - Indians starting center fielder Michael Bourn will need to play in a few more minor league games as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

Bourn has been out with a strained left hamstring, which he hurt during training camp and had operated on during the offseason. He played seven innings of a doubleheader for Triple-A Columbus on Saturday - the first day he was eligible to be activated from the DL - and will spend a few more games with the Clippers this week.

Bourn said it’s been difficult not being with his teammates for the beginning of the season. He batted .263 with 50 RBIs and 23 steals last season, his first after signing a four-year, $48 million free agent contract with Cleveland.

With Bourn out, Nyjer Morgan is playing center and batting leadoff. Morgan reached base four times in Saturday’s loss to Minnesota.
