MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is urging spring athletes, fans and game organizers to recycle.
The agency is reminding athletes to recycle any aluminum cans or glass bottles they bring to the gams as well as the plastic film that wrapped any new equipment. Athletes also should try to buy equipment from sports resale shops or use hand-me-downs and use biodegradable foods such as apples and oranges for snacks.
The DNR says fans should use reuse paper and cardboard from packaging materials to make signs and banners, carpool to games and buy reusable souvenir cups. Game organizers should place recycling and trash bins in easily accessible, visible locations.
