AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - Police in eastern Georgia are investigating a shooting at a shopping center that killed a man and left another wounded.

Richmond County Sheriff’s Sgt. Glen Rahn tells the Augusta Chronicle (https://bit.ly/1hPYN7R ) that an off-duty deputy working on a special assignment heard shots fired near a grocery store Saturday night.

Rahn says the deputy pursued a vehicle occupied by three men from the shopping center and learned that on was suffering from a gunshot wound. Authorities say deputies responding to the shopping center found the body of 35-year-old Michael Hanson of Augusta.

A detailed description of the suspects and information on the shooter’s possible motive weren’t immediately available.
