MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - A review team will visit the Morgantown campus of West Virginia University next week as the university’s years-long reaccreditation process moves ahead.

The review represents a critical step in the university’s reaccreditation. WVU has to be accredited every 10 years by the Higher Learning Commission to receive federal funding.

The Dominion Post (https://bit.ly/PDk2z5 ) reports that the review team consists of people from peer institutions. Once the review team completes its visit, it will issue a report to the commission’s Board of Trustees. It will make the final call on WVU’s accreditation.

The university has been working on its reaccreditation for the past four years.
