NORWICH, England (AP) - West Bromwich Albion cast off a troubled week with a 1-0 win at struggling Norwich on Saturday to boost its Premier League survival hopes.
Saido Berahino was left on the bench and James Morrison started in midfield as Pepe Mel’s side showed a united front following reports of the dressing room clash between Berahino and Morrison after last weekend’s 3-3 draw at Cardiff.
A goal from Morgan Amalfitano on 16 minutes proved enough. Fullback Martin Olsson slipped at the edge of the penalty area and Amalfitano skipped through before sliding a low shot into the far corner.
Norwich twice hit the woodwork in the second half.
A second successive defeat for the Canaries was met by loud boos at the final whistle and leaves Chris Hughton’s side 17th with games ahead against Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.
