RIDGELAND, S.C. (AP) - The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office says a man wanted in connection with a shooting death in Ridgeland has been apprehended in Charleston.

A statement from the sheriff’s office said 23-year-old Devin Dwayne Swinton was arrested Friday at a Charleston motel and taken to the Charleston County Detention Center, where he was to be held pending transportation to Jasper County. No formal charges had been filed as of Saturday.

Swinton was wanted in the death of 23-year-old Dominique Curtis Scott of Ridgeland. Authorities say Scott was shot to death after an argument outside his grandmother’s home.
