AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - Facts and figures for the Masters:

Tournament: The 78th Masters.

Dates: April 10-13

Site: Augusta National Golf Club.

Length: 7,435 yards.

Par: 36-36_72.

Purse: To be determined ($8.1 million in 2013).

Field: 96 (90 professionals, six amateurs).

Cut: Top 50 and ties, and anyone within 10 shots of the lead.

Defending champion: Adam Scott.

Last year: Adam Scott became the first Australian to win the Masters when he made a 12-foot birdie putt on the second extra hole to defeat Angel Cabrera. Scott closed with a 3-under 69 by making a 20-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole. Cabrera, playing in the final group, hit 7-iron to 3 feet for birdie and a 70 to force the playoff. They finished at 9-under 279. Three Australians finished among the top four.

Tiger tales: Tiger Woods will not be at the Masters for the first time since he was a senior in high school. He had back surgery because of a pinched nerve and will be out of golf until the summer.

Key statistic: The Masters is the only major where the winner has never had all four rounds in the 60s.

Noteworthy: Ten players from the top 50 in the world ranking are making their Masters debut.
