Former Tennessee football coach Phillip Fulmer and former Texas A&M coach R.C. Slocum begin a USO tour of the Middle East next week.

The tour begins Wednesday and runs through April 17. The tour is part of the USO Celebrity Entertainment Program, aimed at lifting spirits of troops during their deployment.

In a release issued by Tennessee, Fulmer said “if Coach Slocum and I can give our brave men and women a little by talking football, a special thank you from home or a ’Go Vols’ or ’Gig ’em, Aggies,’ I am up for it.”

Fulmer coached Tennessee to a 1998 national championship and went 152-52-1 before getting forced out in 2008. Slocum was 123-47-2 at Texas A&M from 1989-2002. Both entered the College Football Hall of Fame in 2012.
