SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. (AP) - Nearly 300 service men and women are returning to their Air Force base in North Carolina after deployment to the Middle East.

The airmen from the 4th Fighter Wing are scheduled to return Saturday. They were deployed for service with the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing, which is stationed in the United Arab Emirates.

A statement says their mission was to demonstrate the continued U.S. commitment to regional security.

The unit from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base flies the F-15E Strike Eagle combat fighter.
