NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Police say a 75-year-old woman is dead after a fatal crash car crash in Newark.

Newark Police say it happened Saturday evening at about 10:15 on Library Avenue just north of Farm Lane.

Police say a preliminary investigation found that a 75-year-old Dorothy Hershman of Newark was driving southbound on Library Avenue when for an unknown reason she crossed the road’s center line and ran head-on into a car traveling northbound. Hershman was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the other car and a female passenger sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police did not identify the driver or passenger. Police say an investigation is ongoing.
