SEATTLE (AP) - The U.S. attorney’s office says a doctor who operated medical clinics in Seattle and Everett has been sentenced to five years in prison for distribution of oxycodone.

Prosecutors said 40-year-old Hieu Tu Le of Snohomish was sentenced Thursday in federal court in Seattle.

A former hospital anesthesiologist, Le admitted that between March 2012 and July 2013 he wrote oxycodone prescriptions for cash and obtained oxycodone that he distributed for cash, all without a legitimate medical need to do so.
