ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Alaska State Troopers say a 51-year-old Homer man has died from injuries sustained in a car crash one month ago on the Sterling Highway.

Troopers say Mark Shufelt died Thursday afternoon.

Troopers say Shufelt was southbound in a small truck that collided March 3 with a northbound sedan in the Anchor Point area. Both vehicles veered off the west side of the road and rolled numerous times.

Shufelt was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck. He was flown to Anchorage in critical condition.

The driver of the sedan, 56-year-old Donald Krech, and his passenger, 54-year-old Timothy Johnson, were wearing seat belts. Troopers say the Ninilchik men sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to South Peninsula Hospital in Homer.

Troopers say their investigation continues.
