CHICAGO (AP) - A Grammy winning disc jockey plans to honor late House music legend Frankie Knuckles in Chicago.
The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Affairs hosts a dance party showcase every Friday at the Chicago Cultural Center. This Friday, DJ Maurice Joshua will honor Knuckles during the Wired Fridays session. Knuckles died Monday. He was known as the Godfather of House Music and is credited with helping form the genre during the 1970s and 1980s in Chicago and New York.
City officials say Joshua will spin music created by Knuckles along with his own work.
