MILTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say nine people were sent to hospitals when a car and a van carrying workers for a landscaping company crashed in Milton.

It happened about 6:40 a.m. Friday on Round Pole Bridge Road. Troopers say 63-year-old Mary Ruark of Milton was driving south when she failed to stop at a stop sign. Police say her car was struck by a van driven by 28-year-old Angel Jimenez of Milton.

Ruark was trapped in her car. She was flown to Christiana Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Eight passengers in the van were taken to local hospitals.

The accident is under investigation.
