An admitted white supremacist who faced various charges related to his terrorizing of the small North Dakota community of Leith was sentenced to four years of probation, but no jail time.
Craig Cobb, 62, had been in jail since November, awaiting his trial for seven felony terrorizing counts. Prosecutors alleged he patrolled Leith with his gun, scaring residents in the process.
Cobb actually pleaded guilty to five lesser charges — misdemeanor menacing counts — and to one felony terrorizing charge, The Associated Press reported.
But his actual sentence brought no extra jail time.
Cobb has lived in Leith for more than two years. He bought a house and 12 other lots there and tried to entice other white supremacists to join him in the town and help create a voting majority, AP said.
