LAS VEGAS (AP) - Officials at Las Vegas’ primary airport say a temporary halt on departures has been lifted, but the hold caused a ripple effect of flight delays.

McCarran International Airport spokesman Chris Jones says the stoppage lasted more than an hour on Wednesday afternoon. Jones says it ended a little after 3 p.m., but he encouraged travelers to check whether departure and arrival times for their flights had changed.

The Federal Aviation Administration says problems at an air traffic control facility prompted them to stop landings and takeoffs at Los Angeles-area airports.

Airports around the region also reported disruptions in flights.
