COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A prosecutor says a 16-year-old boy charged in the stabbing death of a central Ohio jogger is expected to plead guilty.

He’s charged with one count of murder and one count of tampering with evidence.

Court records show not-guilty pleas were entered for him Wednesday in Franklin County court, in accordance with court procedures. County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien says the teen is expected to plead guilty within a week and, if convicted, face life in prison with parole eligibility after 18 years.

One of his attorneys was unavailable Wednesday, and the other wouldn’t comment, according to their office.

O’Brien says the teen lived in a group foster home when he repeatedly stabbed 55-year-old Jane Juergens in a suburban Columbus park in October, then tossed his knife into a wooded area.
