LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Maintaining strong bones is the topic of Monday’s Lincoln Science Café.

The speaker is Nancy Waltman, a professor in the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing-Lincoln division. Waltman will discuss diet, calcium and vitamin D, exercises and medications related to bone health.

Her research has focused on cancer nursing and osteoporosis. Her current research is on prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in breast cancer survivors.

The event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Monday at Brewsky’s, 201 N. 8th St., in Lincoln.

Science Cafes are free educational events sponsored by UNMC and other groups to increase people’s science literacy. They are open to everyone 21 and older.
