COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, Minn. (AP) - A second person has been charged with causing extensive graffiti damage in Columbia Heights, including defacement of the city’s new $3 million walking bridge.
Police say the two males tagged about a dozen businesses and vehicles with spray paint one night in January of 2013.
The Star Tribune (https://strib.mn/1ji3N63 ) says a top police investigator was assigned to the case and used subpoenas, computer forensics and leg work to zero in on the two. Twenty-four-year-old Dustin James Jack, of South St. Paul, was recently charged with a felony. Investigators say more than 11,000 images of graffiti tagged across the Twin Cities were found on his iPhone.
A 17-year-old Fridley boy was charged earlier and has pleaded guilty in juvenile court.
