SEATTLE (AP) - Police say a Seattle couple who live in a home overlooking a golf course were apparently unaware that guns and heroin were being sold out of their basement. The couple’s 26-year-old son lives in the home, as did a 34-year-old friend of his.

On Tuesday, SWAT officers and federal drug and Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents showed up at the house.

Acting on a tip, police say officers had purchased several grams of heroin and what was billed as an MP5 submachine gun on Monday. Police discovered the gun was actually a .22-caliber rifle made to look like the more powerful weapon.

On Tuesday, officers with a warrant arrested the son’s friend for investigation of being a felon in possession of firearms. The couple’s son was interviewed and released as the investigation continues.

Officers recovered three handguns and nine rifles, along with body armor, ammunition, a small quantity of heroin and two suspected homemade explosive devices.
