COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - No charges have been filed in the fatal shootings of two men during what police said was an attempted robbery at a central Ohio apartment.

However, police say they will forward the details of the Monday afternoon shooting in northwest Columbus to the county prosecutor for consideration.

The Columbus Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1jgTcZ0 ) reports that the two men were shot by the apartment residents during an apparent robbery. A 20-year-old resident told police that one of the men hit him in the face with a gun. He said one of the men dropped a gun, and he picked it up and fired at them.

The dead men were identified as 20-year-old Lentwan Smith and 21-year-old James-Michael Brice. Detectives said they were trying to rob the apartment of drugs.
