WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - Former CIA director David Petraeus says North Dakota’s energy sector is having impacts across the globe.

Petraeus participated in a town hall discussion on Tuesday in Williston, the biggest city in North Dakota’s booming oil patch.

Petraeus is chairman of the KKR Global Institute. The institute is an arm of the American investment group Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. The company is planning a 164-acre residential development in Williston.

Petraeus was a four-star general in the Army and served as commander of coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan before taking his position at the CIA.
