NAPLES, Fla. (AP) - An elementary school near Naples went on a brief lockdown after black bears were spotted in the area.

Collier County Public Schools spokeswoman Jennifer Weimer told The Naples Daily News (https://bit.ly/1mcMJSG ) that officials closed all but one of the gates at Big Cypress Elementary School campus Wednesday morning.

The bears were spotted at Max Haus Park and officials with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission were asked to assist.

Once the bears left the area, the school was taken off lockdown.
