DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) - Retiring U.S. Rep. John Dingell is among several people receiving awards from the Michigan office of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee.

The suburban Detroit Democrat and the longest serving House member in history will receive ADC Michigan’s Lifetime Achievement Award on Wednesday. That’s when the organization is holding its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Awards Banquet at the Byblos Banquet Hall in Dearborn.

Other recipients include Detroit Free Press editorial page editor Stephen Henderson, who is getting the Media Leadership Award. Leila Saba Hanna, who worked for the Michigan Department of Civil Rights for more than 30 years, will receive the Leadership Award.
