NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Agrico Sales is expanding and will create 25 new direct jobs in the New Orleans area.
Company president and owner Frank Kelly joined Tuesday with Gov. Bobby Jindal to announce plans to build a 56,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that will produce conveyor and shiploader systems for the dry bulk shipping industry.
In a news release, they said the jobs come with an average salary of $40,000 per year. Kelly says the company will retain 35 existing jobs and move its operations form Bridge City in Jefferson Parish to a new site in eastern New Orleans.
Construction will begin in July, with hiring scheduled for October.
The company also designs and builds blending systems, stockpiling and reclaim systems, railcar and truck loading and unloading systems and bin and barn storage.
