ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) - The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a helicopter crash in southern Utah that injured two contractors for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Garfield County near Lake Powell.
Garfield County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Cheryl Church says the helicopter went down early Tuesday afternoon in the Glen Canyon Recreation Area.
One man suffered a broken leg and the other was flown to a hospital in St. George with back injuries.
KUTV reports the helicopter experienced a mechanical failure and was forced to make a hard landing during a mission aimed at livestock predator control.
