SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - A Spokane woman who is accused of killing three prostitutes when she lived as a man more than 20 years ago has pleaded not guilty to murder charges.
The Spokesman-Review says 62-year-old Donna Perry entered the plea on Thursday.
Spokane police announced in October they had evidence to charge Perry, formerly known as Douglas, with the killings of Yolanda Sapp, Nickie Lowe and Kathleen Brisbois between February and May 1990.
Court documents say DNA evidence linked Perry to the deaths. When questioned by Spokane investigators, Perry has told them she knew nothing of the crimes, but wouldn’t confirm whether Douglas killed anyone.
Court records say Perry received a sex change operation on an overseas trip in 2000.
