Fox News host Megyn Kelly is refusing to name the Fort Hood gunman, continuing her stand against those who she says commit crimes for the fame it brings.
Ivan Lopez killed three people and wounded more than a dozen others Wednesday before fatally shooting himself, authorities said. Ms. Kelly, however, wouldn’t mention his name on her show Wednesday, citing a policy she began in October when the show, “The Kelly File,” was launched.
“Authorities are identifying the shooter,” she said, Politico reported. “If you are interested, you can get his name on other shows, like the one that preceded this one and online, but we have decided not to name these mass killers here as a policy here on the ’Kelly File.’ Too often it is infamy they seek, and we decline to help.”
Sean Hannity, whose show comes on after Ms. Kelly’s, also declined to used Mr. Lopez’s name, though he didn’t explain his reasons, Politico reported.
